The fifteenth annual San Diego Latino Film Festival kicks off March 6th at UltraStar’s Hazard Center Cinema. Most of the films being shown will be new, but one is a Latino classic.
That's right! Cheech Marin's Born In East LA will be shown March 16th at 7PM. Cheech will be in attendance so it's a good time to get his autograph.
Born In East LA is about an American-born Hispanic who is illegally deported to Mexico and must sneak back across the border. The film deals with the immigration issue in a comedic tone.
When asked about the immigration issue, Cheech says “It’s gotten worse.” “We’re at the end of eight years of [Bush] Junior, and it’s an election year. It’s almost a given that whenever the economy goes bad, there’s immigrant bashing.”
“Salsa is now the No. 1 condiment. The change has already occurred. The process that’s happening is the perception of the change.”

Hi we had a great charity event here in San Francisco on June 12th for the Palomita Education Fund. I worked with Latino celebrties who helped design T Shirts that were auctioned off at the event; some like Cheech's will be auctioned off on line. I would like to talk with you to learn how we might share/work with you and your fans. The t shirt is great and very UNIQUElY Cheech!!!
