Cheech Marin will Read for Children at Kraft Golf Tournament

More than 40 stars from sports, movies and television will begin play today at the Kraft Nabisco Championship’s Celebrity Pro-Am Tournament.

Celebrities and amateurs will tee off today and compete Wednesday as well in advance of the Kraft Nabisco Championship, which is the LPGA’s first Major of the year. The pro championship runs Thursday through Sunday at Mission Hills Country Club.

Some of the celebrities scheduled to take part in the tournament include actor Craig T. Nelson, Baseball Hall-of-Famer Johnny Bench, musician Alice Cooper, Dennis Haysbert of “24” and the Allstate commercials, comedian Richard Kind, actor Joe Pesci and actor Ray Romano.

As part of the Celebrity Pro-Am event, a “Reading on the Green” event will be held at 9 a.m. on the 18th green of the Dinah Shore Tournament Course. More than 1,000 children will listen to readings by LPGA players as well as Cheech Marin and Mary Heart.

This is the 40th year of the Kraft Nabisco Championship.

No word on whether or not this is a PR stunt to help people forget that Cheech Marin's ex-wife tried to get a restraining order against him for allegedly beating her and at the time, their thirteen year old child.

Cheech and Chong's Last Show

The last show of the Cheech and Chong Get It Legal tour took place last night at the Adler Theatre in Davenport, Iowa.  The reviews were equally as bad as Friday night's show at the Fargodome.  This is surprising because the reviews of the first few dates of the tour were positive.  I guess Cheech and Tommy were burnt out (pardon my pun).

The first twenty minutes of last night's show was plagued with sound issues.  This wasn't Cheech and Chong's fault.

The rest of the night the fans wished there were sound issues.  According to the Quad City Times,  Cheech "stumbled and stammered over his jokes, often muffling his delivery."  They go onto say "Cheech seemed to lack the mastery of spoken word one might associate with a semi-accomplished actor."

Tommy Chong said he's writing a Cheech and Chong film, but don't hold your breath.  He's been writing various scripts over past 5 years.  Most were never finished and if Shelby is involved, Cheech doesn't want anything to do with the project.

Review: Cheech and Chong at the Fargodome

The Inforum, The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead, published a review of Cheech and Chong's second-to-last show ever, last night's show at the Fargodome.

The writer, John Lamb, says "The nearly two-hour show felt long with awkward pacing."
Regarding Shelby Chong, "When she asked if people smoked in their car or at home, I’m sure some were wishing they could wait in their car for her set to finish."

All-in-all, the show "lacked energy."  This is part of the reason they're wrapping up the tour.

The first leg of their tour, Light Up America, is captured on the Hey Watch This DVD/Blu-ray.  The second leg of their tour, Get It Legal, was not filmed for release.

Updated: Attention Waldwick Voters! It's Time to Elect New Board of Education Members

On April 27th, Waldwick, New Jersey taxpayers will get their chance to vote for two new Board of Education members.  The current board members, including the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Patricia Raupers, are trying to force a random drug testing policy on us.

If the student refuses or fails the test, they won't be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities, nor be able to park at the school.

The ballot hasn't been finalized, we'll post the candidates as that information becomes available.

These people have filed, but we don't yet know their stance on the mandatory drug testing policy.

Attention Waldwick Voters! Vote Against the School Budget

As we reported last week, the Waldwick Board of Education of Waldwick, New Jersey is trying to force through a mandatory random drug testing policy.  Six percent of students participating in extra-curricular activities will have to take a drug test.  If they refuse or fail the test, they won't be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities, nor be able to park at the school.

Board President, Patty Levine, refused to have the town vote on it saying "That's why you elected us."

This is illegal.  This is humiliating.  And it's going to cost Waldwick taxpayers over $3000 per year. It's violates the students' US and NJ Constitutional rights.  Such a policy was already blocked by a New Jersey judge in a suit against Hunterdon Central Regional High School.

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr Patricia Rauper, eventually wants to make it mandatory that every student is tested for drugs.  Her job is to run our school system efficiently and save us money, not to spend our hard earned money on unnecessary drug testing.

On April 27th, taxpayers will have the opportunity to vote on the taxy levy for the 2011-2012 school year.  The Superintendent of Schools, Dr Patricia Rauper, and the Board of Education laid out a budget which is bigger than last year.

In fact, every year the school budget gets bigger and bigger and the taxpayers keep approving it.  They approve the budget because they are told voting against it will affect their child's education.  It's pure manipulation.

Also keep in mind that the Superintendent position should have been shared with another town.  Waldwick is a small town so it doesn't need it's own Superintendent, but the elected officials insisted.  Now, we're stuck paying her ridiculous $180,000 salary.

Enough is enough!  Vote 'NO' to the school budget to show them you don't want your taxes to increase again.  Vote 'NO' to the school budget because you don't want your money being used to violate your child's right to privacy and search without just cause.

And while you're at it, please call, write and email these people.

Cheech and Chong Simpsons Episode was Lowest Rated this Year

This just in....
Last night's episode of the Simpsons, starring Cheech and Chong, was the lowest rated Simpsons episode of the season.
Bummer!

The show was like a big advertisement for Cheech and Chong.  Was Fox paid for this or do they share agents with the Simpsons staff?

Review: Cheech and Chong Simpson's Episode Was Horrible

This season of the Simpsons was really good....until last night's episode.

“A Midsummer’s Nice Dream” Season 22 Episode 16 – Cheech and Chong are returning to Springfield. If you don’t know who Cheech and Chong are, you’re one of many. They are Springfield’s equivalent of Beavis and Butthead. But when Chong decides not to sell out by doing the same skits over and over again, Homer steps up to the stoner comedy plate and takes Chong’s place.

The episode was flat and went nowhere.  Half of the Simpsons demographic is not Cheech and Chong's demographic so half the people watching didn't know who they were.  It seemed like a huge commercial for the Cheech and Chong reunion tour which is over this coming weekend.

This site seems to agree and this site.

Update on Waldwick High School's Drug Testing Policy

Yesterday, we reported on Waldwick High School's newly enacted random drug testing policy.  Six percent of students participating in extra-curricular activities will have to take a drug test.  If they refuse or fail the test, they won't be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities, nor be able to park at the school.

This is illegal.  It's violates the students' US and NJ Constitutional rights.  This is humiliating.  And it's going to cost Waldwick taxpayers over $3000 per year.

The only people that are 'for' this program are people that are ignorant, uninformed, failed at parenting their own kids or are passing the parenting responsibity to the school because they're too lazy.

Board President, Patty Levine, refused to have the town vote on it saying "That's why you elected us."

That's an arrogant, self-righteous attitude.

Please call, write and email these people.  We guessed on some of the emails, but we they should be correct.

We Need Your Help! Waldwick High School to Begin Random Drug Testing

We never thought this day would come, but our hometown of Waldwick, New Jersey has introduced a random drug testing policy for high school students that, if approved, will be implemented as a pilot program in the 2011-2012 school year.

The policy states that students who participate in privileged activities, such as extracurricular activities and parking on the high school campus would be subject to the random testing.

The entire board of education, except one person, voted for the policy.  Dominic Novelli abstained because he realizes what a travesty this is.

They think that this will discourage students from taking drugs or drinking alcohol.  This only discourages kids from participating in school activities.
Why would you want to play football if you need to pee in a cup or get blood taken?

Our children will no longer feel safe if this policy passes.  If your child tests positive or even a false positive, it will allow the police to charge the parents, arrest and send the student to jail and search the parents' home.

The Waldwick Board of Education is stripping students of their rights.  They're stripping parents of their rights. It's turning the school system into a police state!  This is an act of terrorism because they are terrorizing our children.

The Waldwick Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Patricia Raupers, has only been on the job one year so she's doing everything she can to keep her job.  This is why she's forcing this ridiculous measure down everyone's throat.  She can best be compared to a new CEO that issues massive layoffs to show who is in charge. Rauper wants to get noticed.

In reality, being a Superintendent of such a small town like Waldwick is an easy job.  The position should have been shared with another town.  Instead, we're stuck paying her ridiculous $180,000 salary.

Raupers is supposed to be trying to save the town money.  The town passed the budget so that the school system could purchase books and provide a better education for their children.  Instead, Raupers is giving our money to Quest Diagnostics to perform these drug tests.

This is completely illegal and such a policy has already been found unconstitutional.  In 2001, a New Jersey judge blocked Hunterdon Central Regional High School's random drug testing policy in a challenge brought by the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey on behalf of three area families.

"The Court's opinion recognizes that the State Constitution protects individuals from searches, such as urine tests, unless there is evidence that they have done something wrong or unless the government demonstrates a great need for such a search," said Ravinder S. Bhalla of the Newark firm Krovatin & Associates, who represented the families on behalf of the ACLU.

"Students should not have to surrender their right to privacy in order to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities, and participation in these school programs does not significantly diminish an individual's reasonable expectation of privacy or the intrusiveness of a suspicionless drug testing program," Judge Guterl wrote.

Courts in other states, such as Pennsylvania and Indiana, have also held that their state constitutions prohibit such random testing.

What's next?  Will the Waldwick Board of Education hire a police officer to do a forced pat down of your child?  Will they purchase a drug sniffing dog?

Waldwick will be sued for this!

This is not whether you're for or against drugs.  It's whether you're for or against the rights of your children.

Please call, write and email these people.  We guessed on some of the emails, but we they should be correct.

Company that Funded Cheech Marin Film Charged with Fraud

There's a class action suit against Medical Capital. The company, which billed its mission as “financing the future of health care,” purported to lend money to troubled hospitals, clinics and nursing homes.

In 2009, the S.E.C. charged Medical Capital with fraud. Among other allegations, the agency claimed the company misappropriated funds. The court-appointed receiver for Medical Capital found that some of the money was invested in a yacht, named the Home Stretch; an Internet pornography company; and “The Perfect Game,” a movie about a Mexican little league team, starring alleged wife and child beater Cheech Marin.

They robbed people of their life savings.  The decision is now in the hands of the judge.

The Perfect Game was released in 2010 after years of delays and cast changes.  Ultimately, it starred Cheech Marin and Louis Gossett Jr.  The movie was terrible.  People who saw the film should sue to get their money back.
