Cheech in The Icehouse?

There's a rumor floating around that Cheech Marin will star as Rafael in Michael Giannantonio's The Icehouse. We'll let you know when the rumor is confirmed

Synopsis:
In 1973, a series of unimaginable murders occurred in a rundown Icehouse just inside the Mexican border. Now, some thirteen years later, the legacy of terror continues when Mexican drug lord Pablo Costa claims the now abandoned Icehouse for his own. The setting, a small Mexican border town of Ojinaga, is a place where corruption runs deep and the law exists only to the highest bidder. Pablo, using the Icehouse to cleverly disguise drugs inside blocks of ice, seems to have the perfect organization, that is until it's discovered a ruthless killer lurks within the Icehouse. When a government task force is assembled to stop Pablo, now nicknamed "the Iceman", they seize a shipment of drugs at the border and recover an invitation to a party Pablo is planning. The task force is quick to assemble an action packed raid on the Icehouse, little do they know they're about to embark upon a gruesome adventure that will leave them chilled to the bone. When the teenage daughter of the agent in charge steals the invitation and is coaxed by her friends into going, it is quickly discovered that there is something to fear other than Pablo himself. The gang of teenage friends is about to make their way to Mexico for an onslaught of action packed horror so cold it'll keep you frozen stiff.

Interview with Tommy Chong

The A.V Club interviewed Tommy Chong about everything from his prison term, politics, drugs and more.

The best quote..."I do have a plan for the country. It needs education. And there should be drug education—only they should teach people how to smoke pot, because even potheads don't know how to smoke pot."

Cheech to be Permanent Fixture at Palm Restaurant

The Palm Restaurant opened in New York City in 1926. At the time, the owners had no money to decorate. The cartoonists that drew for King Features Syndicate (which was located nearby) would often eat there and draw their cartoons on the walls. Eventually, the cartoonists began drawing caricatures of celebrities that came into the restaurant.

There are now a total of 25 Palm Restaurants in the U.S.

It hasn't been decided yet, but Cheech Marin will be immortalized in a caricature in either the Los Vegas or Los Angeles restaurant. There will also be a signing ceremony.

We will provide more details as they become available.

Tommy and Shelby Chong Coming to Denver

Tommy and Shelby Chong will be at the Denver Improv this weekend. The Denver Post had a chance to interview Tommy via phone.

When asked about the legacy of the Cheech and Chong albums and films, Tommy says "our albums still sell. We've been getting checks for like 40 years, and we're just now starting to animate all the records."

Tommy is referring to the project he has with Lou Adler's (the Producer of their albums and Director of Up In Smoke) animation company. Tommy and Lou plan to animate some of the best Cheech and Chong bits, just as Lou did with Earache My Eye which can be seen on Up In Smoke: High-larious Edition DVD. It really turned out great. You should pick it up if you haven't seen it.

When asked about the chances of a Cheech and Chong reunion, Tommy responds "No, not really...He wants to get together, but he just wants the money. He doesn't want to be Cheech, and he doesn't want to do pot humor."
