New Jersey Coffee Shop Rebrands Itself After 'Cheech' Lawsuit

Cheech's Own, owned by Bridgewater native Steven Chiocchi, is rebranding itself to Lucid after actor Richard "Cheech" Marin filed a lawsuit.

Back in September 2019, Cheech sued this New Jersey coffee shop over it's name.  Keep in mind that Cheech had only recently applied for a trademark. They settled in March of this year.

Cheech is a widely used nickname for Chicharonne. Cheech loves to sue people. Soon he'll sue anyone that names their chihuahua Cheech.

Grand Opening is this Friday.
