2007 Global Comedyfest Line-up

Returning crowd favorites, comedy legends and hot newcomers set to storm the city!

This year’s Global ComedyFest has grown from a six day event to a ten day extravaganza, jam-packed with uproarious side-splitting performances. Combining bigger venues, shows and names the 2007 Festival is a true international event with the best comic entertainers from all areas of the world.

Warm up your funny bone at Lafflines September 13-15 (8pm/ 10:30) to kick off the 2007 Festival. Join comedy icon Tommy Chong at Lafflines Comedy Club, a Grammy Award winning comedian legendary for his contribution to American counterculture as part of the comedy team Cheech & Chong. Also at Lafflines Comedy Club September 21-22 (8pm/ 10:30), Canada’s hottest comedian is back: Mr. Standing Ovation Jeremy Hotz (The Newsroom).

At Boulevard Casino’s Red Robinson theatre two of Saturday Night Lives greatest and longest running cast members hit the stage. 8pm Thursday September 20 – Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live) and 8pm Friday September 22 – Darrell Hammond (Saturday Night Live).

At the Fabulous Commodore Ballroom L.A.’s Hottest comedy show “Comedy Death Ray” featuring David Cross (Mr. Show and Arrested Development), Bob Odenkirk (Mr. Show, The Larry Sanders Show), Neil Hamburger (Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny), Mary Lynn Rajskub (24), Brian Posehn, (Just shoot me), Maria Bamford (The Comedians of Comedy) and many more to come stay tuned….

Vancouver’s home of rhythm and blues – The Yale will host our first annual “Baked Sale” 8pm Thursday September 20 th. Burning up the stage is special guest host Olympic Gold Medalist Ross Rebagliati. He will be joined by a bushel of talented comics dealing jokes about the wonders of Marijuana. The line up includes Canadian Legend Mike MacDonald, co-creators of the Marijuana- Logues Doug Benson and Tony Camin along with Wreck queen and pot diva Watermelon.
