Idris Elba, JK Simmons and Tommy Chong to lend their voices to Disney's Zootropolis
Disney has added Idris Elba, JK Simmons and Tommy Chong to its impressive (and long) cast list for forthcoming film Zootropolis (known as Zootopia outside of the UK). The trio join the likes of Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwin in the studio's animated adventure.
Back in May, Disney announced it had cast Horrible Bosses star Bateman and Once Upon A Time's Goodwin in the upcoming animal-based movie... and then did not really reveal much else. Despite revealing the lead actors and basic knowledge of the plot, little else was known about the film. That was until 25 October, when the studio confirmed more details about the project.
Beasts Of No Nation star Elba has come aboard to lend his voice to the project, set to play government-worker bull Chief Bogo, while Simmons has been cast as a lion, Mayor Leodore Lionheart. It has also been reported that Chong (of the Cheech & Chong variety) will voice hippy yak Yax.
The film centres on rabbit police officer Judy Hopps (Goodwin) who learns the hard way that being the first bunny in the precinct alongside her big and tough animal colleagues is not as fun as she first imagined. Determined to prove herself, Hopps jumps at the chance to solve one particularly hard case, even if that does mean she has to partner up with smooth-talking scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde (Bateman).
Other already confirmed cast members include Alan Tudyk (Suburgatory) and Octavia Spencer (The Help), who will be voicing Duke Weaselton and Mrs Otterton respectively, the former a small-time crime-committing weasel and the latter a desperate otter who turns to Hopps for help in getting to the bottom of her husband's disappearance. How Bad is Tommy Chong's Cancer?
In the past, Tommy Chong dismissed his cancer as nothing to worry about. He promoted treating cancer with hemp oil. It didn't work.
Currently, he's receiving chemo and will have a tumor removed shortly.
Page Six reports that Tommy Chong could barely stand while accepting his lifetime achievement award at Hempfest in Vegas this past weekend.
If you watch the video below, you'll see that he had no problem standing and didn't seem weak for a 77 year old. Yet, he did tell the crowd his cancer came back "big."

The first event in 2014 saw more than 10,000 people come through the gates. Las Vegas HEMPFEST is an officially licensed partner with America's largest marijuana festival the Seattle HEMPFEST, which has supported the Cannabis/Hemp legalization movement for 25 years.
Medical marijuana dispensaries are now open in Nevada. An effort is underway for full legalization in 2016. This event is to celebrate progress.

Medical marijuana dispensaries are now open in Nevada. An effort is underway for full legalization in 2016. This event is to celebrate progress.

Cheech and Chong and WAR Coming to Alberta Canada
Cheech and Chong have announced their first new tour date since Tommy Chong began cancer treatment.
On January 29, 2016 the Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke tour with WAR is coming to the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino in Calgary Alberta Canada.

Tommy Chong to Launch New Show on Dish Network and the Web
According to Page Six, Tommy Chong will be launching a YouTube channel called Keep it Legal. They'll discuss “anything that affects the pot smoker’s status in any way, negative or positive.”
He says he's been using marijuana as a pain killer during this cancer battle. The pain is so bad he has to wake in the middle of the night to smoke up.

Tommy Chong has teamed up with popular app WeedMaps for a sketch comedy series aimed at the "stoner" audience. Almost Legal, starring the comedian and featuring such guests as Hannibal Burress, Danny Trejo, Steve-O, Andy Milonakis and Garfunkel and Oates, will air via FilmOn Networks which has secured distribution over Dish Network in addition to its own streaming site FilmOn.com, claiming 70 million monthly uniques internationally.
The show is directed by his son, Paris (nepotism alert). Paris has no noteworthy experience directing so I guess Tommy insisted on it.
