SCHECTER GUITARS ANNOUNCES “CHEECH AND CHONG” LIMITED EDITION GUITARS

(May 6th, 2014 Sun Valley, CA) – Schecter Guitar Research and the iconic duo known as “Cheech and Chong” are set to produce a limited number of graphic guitars to be created and sold under the Schecter Guitar brand. The Grammy Award winning comedy team started entertaining audiences back in the early 70’s with their hilarious stand up pot smoking comedy routines, which led to their eventual movie success a few years later.

Over the past 25 years Cheech and Chong have produced multiple albums along with controversial movies that centered on the comedic use of Marijuana and the love of the rock-n-roll lifestyle. “There is no better time than now to create such a great line of collectable guitars; especially considering that states have now legalized Marijuana for medical, and recreational purposes” says Allen Steelgrave, Director of Marketing/Artist Relations for Schecter Guitars.

The iconic team has been nominated for several awards over their careers; finally winning the Grammy for best comedy album in 1973, the duo went on to produce more than 8 films and 9 albums.

One thing that can’t be denied is that Cheech and Chong will always be known for their satirical take on the party life-style. Look out for the guitars to hit stores by mid summer. The first series will be available only through Sam Ash locations.
