It looks like a Cheech Marin sitcom may actually finally make it to air. This is because it's actually a Rob Schneider sitcom. The show has received a request from CBS for another pilot and backup scripts.
The show is written by Schneider and Lew Morton. It's about Schneider's real life experiences and about his character marrying into a Mexican-American family. Cheech Marin plays the father-in-law.
Eugenio Derbez plays Rob's wife's uncle. Talk about a small world. Eugenio also starred in the Rick Najera's Broadway play,
Latinologues...which Cheech Marin directed.
The show, which is currently untitled, would be a mid-season replacement.
