'Jeopardy!' Is Re-Airing Its 20 Most Iconic Episodes, Including the Series Premiere From 1984
Two exciting announcements dropped Thursday for fans of the iconic game show Jeopardy! and its beloved host Alex Trebek, who has been battling pancreatic cancer.
"I'm doing well," Trebek said in a video posted to social media. "I've been continuing my treatment, and it is paying off, though it does fatigue me a great deal. My numbers are good, and I'm feeling great."
In addition to being able to breathe a sigh of relief, fans of the game are also being gifted with a four-week journey through the show's history in a marathon called Jeopardy! The Vault. Producers narrowed down 8,000 episodes from the series' 36 seasons to 20 top episodes, which will play out over one month.
Among the episodes selected is the very first show, which dates all the way back to Sept. 10, 1984, and the very first episode of Celebrity Jeopardy!, which featured the legendary comedian Carol Burnett and former morning show host Regis Philbin. One of the five celebrity episodes also features Martha Stewart facing off against basketball star Charles Barkley.
