More On Buchanan, The Attorney That Prosecuted Tommy Chong
In the following article, Pittsburgh's Post Gazette analyzes U.S. attorney Mary Beth Buchanan's career. It appears that the majority of what she did was geared towards taking away our freedoms. She was a strong supporter of the Patriot Act (big brother), shut down a pornography company that featured defecation and got Tommy Chong nine months in prison for shipping bongs to Pennsylvania.

Judge Dismisses Some Of The Charges Against Ed Rosenthal
The federal judge presiding over the case against "Guru of Ganja", Ed Rosenthal, dismissed the money laundering and tax evasion charges. The marijuana cultivation and distribution charges are still pending.
Tommy Chong played a benefit show at Ed's house earlier this month to help raise money to pay his legal fees. 200 people were in attendance. The cops only came once, to tell attendees to stay inside.

Attorney That Prosecuted Tommy Chong Was Promoted
With the recent announcement that numerous U.S. attorneys were fired by the Bush administration, one would have hoped that the attorney that prosecuted Tommy Chong was one of them. Unfortunately, Mary Beth Buchanan was not. She was instead promoted to head of the Justice Department's Office on Violence Against Women.
It's ironic that she was promoted. She botched a few cases while U.S. Attorney.
Also noteworthy is that one of the U.S. Attorneys was fired because he refused to "pursue marijuana trafficking cases."

Now In Stock...After Hours DVD
We have begun carrying Martin Scorsese's DVD, After Hours.
A meek word processor impulsively travels to Manhattan's Soho District to date an attractive but apparently disturbed young woman and finds himself trapped there in a nightmarishly surreal vortex of improbable coincidences and farcical circumstances.
Cheech and Chong portray burglars which appear throughout the film. Although Cheech later makes a cameo in Chong's Far Out, Man, many consider this to be the last film before their break-up.

Q&A Session With a/k/a Tommy Chong Director Coming To NYC
On Thursday March 8th, a/k/a Tommy Chong director, Josh Gilbert, will be conducting a Q&A Session at the 92nd Street Y in New York City.
When comedy legend Tommy Chong (of Cheech and Chong) was arrested in 2003 and sentenced to nine months for the manufacture and sale of drug paraphernalia, filmmaker Josh Gilbert’s cameras were rolling, capturing the American justice system in action and focusing on a case that some consider an absurd episode of the war on drugs. Gilbert offers an amusing and sometimes frightening look at what he contends is the erosion of civil liberties in modern-day America.
