Cheech Marin & Friends Coming To Sparks

Cheech Marin's traveling comedy tour, Cheech Marin & Friends, will be in Sparks, Nevada May 4-5.

Cheech Marin plays ringleader to comedic cohorts. Cheech will also tells jokes and perform with a band, belting out old Cheech & Chong favorites such as Born in East L.A.

Last year, Marin hosted the Comedy Central special Cheech Marin & Friends: Live from South Beach," which premiered on March 13th 2006.

The comedian and actor will perform at 8 p.m. May 4-5 in the Celebrity Showroom at John Ascuaga's Nugget. Tickets are $59, available at the Nugget, Tickets.com outlets or (800) 648-1177. Details: 356-3300 or www.janugget.com.

Justice Department Priorities

A number of federal prosecutors were fired because their priorities were not in line with the Bush administration's priorities.

They give examples of some of the administration's priorities. They mention Buchanan, the attorney that prosecuted Tommy Chong, a man with no criminal record.

They also discuss how Buchanan botched another federal case which was eventually thrown out of court.

Rae Dawn Chong Signs On For Solitaire

Tommy Chong's daughter, Rae Dawn Chong, has signed on for a new film titled Solitaire. "Solitaire," which is written and directed by Frank D'Agostino, is a "coming of age drama set in Pawtucket, tells the story of a blue collar Blackstone Valley street toughwho falls in love with a girl from Newport."

The film is currently in pre-production.

Cheech Speaks About Chicano Art In Fayetteville And Discusses Upcoming Roles

On Wednesday, Cheech Marin gave a lecture on Chicano art at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, NC. Similar to Tuesday's lecture in Springfield, it was a serious talk on Chicano art mixed with jokes.

Before the lecture, Cheech had dinner with theater students. He said "he has several TV pilots and movie deals in the works. He just filmed an episode of the popular TV show “Lost,” playing plane crash survivor Hurley’s father in a flashback."

Who Killed The Electric Car?

We here at Cheech and Chong Dot Com highly recommend renting "Who Killed The Electric Car?" It's a great documentary about how the oil industry and General Motors stopped the manufacturing of the zero emission EV1. The film is shocking.

The Chongs are strong supporters of people driving energy efficient vehicles. In fact, Tommy recently converted his car.
